I write to thank you for your recent help & support in our recent application for a buy-to-let mortgage.

I am sorry that the deal has not gone through due to the ridiculous rental valuation we received but I would like to take this opportunity to recognise all the hard work you put into this application completely unpaid.

You fought tirelessly on my behalf against shear incompetence from the lender who put barriers in our path at every stage of the application and all this despite the fact that you do not charge fees and only earn on completed deals. Even when the deal looked dead you supported me in the complaint procedure to try and recover the fee charged by the lender.

I have worked as a mortgage broker in the past and can only sympathise with how difficult it must be to work in the industry at the moment with good customers being penalised by lenders for bad decisions and practise that they made and are now feeling the consequences of.

Hopefully, the market will come back stronger over the next couple of years and brokers such as yourself will be in prime position to benefit from years of honest, customer focussed work.

Once again, many thanks. I will not hesitate to recommend you to friends and associates who are looking for a mortgage of any kind.

would like to put in writing how satisfied I have been with the service you have provided me. I tentatively asked you about setting up a buy-to-let mortgage over 3 months ago and you quickly responded with a time for us to meet.

Having taken some basic information from me, you advised on the type and length of mortgage I should go for whilst always giving me options and offering helpful, impartial advice throughout.

Convinced I could find a better deal on some well know websites, I then set about my own search which after a few hours of work, left me back with your offer as there was nothing I could find to match it.

Then we set about dealing with the Build Society and all the paperwork they requested. Such a drawn out process but one that you were a great help with maintaining the link to the Building Society so I didn’t have to and all this without charging me a fee.

The mortgage has been approved thanks in no small part to your efforts and I would not hesitate in recommending your services to anyone in my position.

I have been a commercial property landlord for the past 30 years, and have industrial units and offices spread over 5 locations in Sheffield and Doncaster.

Earlier this year I approached the bank we had been with for the past 30 years about a loan to refurbish some of our properties, and although we had a very good relationship with them their current policy was not to lend money against commercial properties. I therefore asked Simon for his help and guidance and he introduced me to lender who was open to funding this kind of project.

Simon and his colleagues were very friendly, professional, and efficient throughout, ensuring I had all the help I needed to secure the loan in this very tough economic climate.

I’m very pleased to say that with Simons help the transaction completed in June resulting in £250,000 being available to amalgamate our existing borrowings and complete the property refurbishments. The added bonus to this deal is that the new lender has provided us with free business banking for life on all our businesses.

Needless to say I am extremely pleased with the way Simon and his colleagues performed throughout and I would have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone who is in the market for a residential or commercial mortgage.

Thank you Simon, you’re a star.

Dear Simon Barratt of Homemaker Mortgages

I am writing to you following the recent 3 properties I have purchased, which I came to you to be advised for the mortgages.

I would like to thank you for all your help and professional advice. Your excellent service really took the stress out of buying a house, and when problems did occur, you always took care of these promptly.

Not only did you take care of the mortgages, but you also provided the Buildings Insurance Cover for each of the properties so I had to do minimal.

Because of the friendly and quality service, I will certainly use you again. Furthermore, I will have no hesitation in recommending you to others.

I recently wanted to look at seeing whether I could get a better deal on my mortgage than the existing one I had as in this current climate every penny counts.

I sat and had a conversation with Simon Barratt of Homemaker Mortgages who helped me to realise that I could save money not just on my mortgage but other things as well.

Simon came to my home and sat with myself and my husband and advised us about all the options available to us that we never even realised were possible.

Simon listened to what we had to say and was very compassionate and understanding about our situation due to a loss of a family member and a house we had inherited and the strange situation we were in.

Since our meeting wheels are in motion to get ready to put into place the arrangements available to us and Simon has also managed to save us money by getting us a great deal on our house insurance where we now pay half the cost that we were
paying originally.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Simon and have already done so to many people. I will never go anywhere else because of the fantastic advice he gave to me and my family which is going to help us tremendously.

Testimonial for Simon Barratt (Homemaker Mortgages)

I would like to place on record my thanks and gratitude for Simon’s efforts during the application and on-going work to secure a mortgage for Ashley.

Simon was very efficient and combined this quality with an friendly, efficient and very personable attitude.

He was very helpful and always made the effort to keep us informed as to the current position and with anything we needed to act upon.

Despite the transaction not completing at this time Simon still worked to secure a refund of monies for Ashley despite this being of no specific benefit to him.

I would not hesitate in recommending Simon’s work to others.
